5-Star Hotels In Delhi & Lucknow Converted To Quarantine Zones For Medical Staff

The total number of Coronavirus cases in India has crossed 1,600 as of 1st April. Both Central and State Governments have kept the spread of the virus in check by imposing a national lockdown urging the commoners to stay at home. In this situation, while we are staying safe indoors with our family, doctors, nurses and paramedics, are constantly battling COVID-19 on the frontlines. And for such a pandemic, their families tend to develop a severe susceptibility towards the disease. In short, these brave citizens are sacrificing their own family to take care of others. To alleviate the condition of the medical personnel, the State Governments at Delhi and Uttar Pradesh have taken a special approach to protect them and their families from COVID-19 infection.

Four 5-star hotels in Lucknow have been converted into quarantine zones for medical staff like doctors, paramedics, and medical workers who are fighting Coronavirus in the frontlines. The hotels which have been converted are Hyatt Regency, Fairfield by Marriott, Lemon Tree and Piccadilly. UP government has said that this measure has been taken in order to take proper care of those who are directly interacting with and treating the patients affected by the Coronavirus. The district magistrate has also notified the nearby hotels in the area to take preparation for a similar situation. Apart from these five-star hotels, guest houses and government accommodations have also been notified by the UP government to prepare quarantine zones if and when required. The government has decided to home the staff working at Ram Manohar Lohiya Institute at the Fairfield, and SGPGI staff at the Piccadilly and the Lemon Tree.

Similarly, the Delhi government has also decided to convert the 5-star hotels in the city to quarantine zones for the medical staff treating Coronavirus patients. The Chief Minister of Delhi has announced in a tweet that Hotel Lalit would be utilized for this purpose. The personnel working at Lok Nayak Hospital and GB Pant Hospital would be quarantined at the Lalit.
