Departure Day : The Palace on Wheels departs on Wednesday from New Delhi
Destinations Covered : New Delhi >> Jaipur >> Sawai Madhopur and Chittorgarh >> Udaipur >> Jaisalmer >> Jodhpur >> Bharatpur and Agra >> New Delhi

Day 1: New Delhi
*Join the tour group for a day tour of the Capital city sightseeing. Visit India Gate, Lotus Temple, Qutb Minar, Humayun’s Tomb
*After Lunch, arrive at Safdarjung Railway Station for a warm traditional welcome.
Day 2: Jaipur
*The train arrives at the ‘Pink City’ Jaipur at 02:00 hrs.
*Explore the city. Visit to Hawa Mahal – the Palace of Wind – a remarkable five-storied pink building in the old city.
*Later visit Amber Fort and Rajasthali, the Rajasthan Govt. Emporium where you can shop genuine handicrafts.
*Post lunch visit City Palace and Jantar Mantar. Luxury coach will take you back to the train at 018:30 hours.
*Have Dinner onboard.
Day 3: Sawai Madhopur & Chittorgarh
?After breakfast, the group is taken to Ranthambore National Park. The Park is home to more than 300 species of birds and many animals such as tigers, hyena, jackal, fox among others.
?Return to train for lunch and onward journey to Chittorgarh.
?Spend the evening at the historic Chittorgarh Fort.
Day 4: Udaipur
*Palace on Wheels arrives in Udaipur, the Lake city at 08:00 hrs. Visit Jag Niwas, Lake Pichola and City Palace.
*Head to Crystal Gallery in the evening.
*The train proceeds towards Jaisalmer. Stay aboard overnight.
Day 5: Jaisalmer
*Arrival 09:15 hrs. The city of Jaisalmer was founded in 1156 AD by Rewal Jaisal. Wander around its splendid latticed havelis: Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim-Singh-ki-haveli.
*Shop at Rajasthali for handicraft, shawls and embroidered articles.
*Visit sand dunes at Sam and enjoy camel ride.
*Savor a sumptuous dinner at a hotel in town.
*The train heads for Jodhpur.
Day 6: Jodhpur
*Early morning, the train arrives in Jodhpur. The city was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 AD.
*Explore the fascinating city visiting Jaswant Thada, Mehrangarh Fort and many palaces within the fort namely Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana, Daulat Khana.
*After lunch at the Train, go shopping for exquisite handicraft items.
Day 7: Bharatpur & Agra
*Next morning, the Train reaches Bharatpur where famous Keoladeo Ghana National Park is situated. The Park is home to thousands of Ergets, sibes, Water fowl and migratory birds.
*Arrive at Fatehpur Sikri, the Mughal palatial complex. There are many interesting structures inside including Jodhabai’s palace and tomb of Salim Chishti.
*Later move on to splendid Taj Mahal at Agra, built by Shah Jahan to commemorate his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
*After dinner onboard, the Palace heads back to Delhi.
*Arrive at Safdarjung Railway Station. Leave the Palace taking home the pleasant memories of a weeklong majestic ride.

Palace on Wheels combines the facilities of a luxury train and a luxury hotel. Ranging from personal attendants to bar to restaurants, all the facilities are provided on board the Palace on Wheels. Infact, you never get to feel that you are inside a moving train. In the following lines, we have provided more information about the facility of Palace on Wheels, India…

Accommodation :

14 fully air conditioned deluxe salons, each a combination of 4 twin bedded chambers with channel music, intercom, attached toilets, running hot and cold water, shower, wall to wall carpeting and other amenities.

Arrival Kit : An arrival kit is kept in each and every chamber of the Palace on Wheels before the arrival of the tourists. It comprises of the necessary tit bits like stationery items, brochures, cards, etc.

Personal Attendants (Khidmatgar) : Each and every coach or salon has personal attendants attached to it. These Khidmatgars are always at the beck and call of the travelers, to take care of all their travel needs.

Luggage Collection : Your luggage is picked up and taken to your respective salons without your worrying about it.

Newspapers and Magazines : In the morning, the travelers are greeted with a steaming cup of coffee or tea, along with a copy of the leading newspapers. There is also a large collection of magazines inside the train.

Toiletries : All the necessary toiletries, like soaps, shampoos, moisturizers, etc, are made available inside the Palace on Wheels.

Bar : A Bar, stocked with the best Indian as well as international liquor, wine and other spirits, is one of the most popular facilities inside the train.

Lounge :

In every coach, there is a lounge for the purpose of relaxation as well as interaction amongst the travelers.

Mail Box : There is also a provision of mailbox inside the Palace on Wheels, where you can post your mail.

Medical Aid : The facility of first aid is available at all the times inside the train. There is also the provision of calling a doctor at the next station the rain is about to reach.

Restaurants :

The two restaurants onboard the Palace on Wheels, “The Maharaja” and “The Maharani”, offer delicious Continental, Chinese, Indian and Rajasthani cuisine.

ATM/and Satellite Phone : There is a proposal of providing ATM and Satellite Phone facilities inside the train.

Terms & Conditions

  • Children less than 5 years can travel on 10% of the tariff without bed. Half fare (of the total cost) for children between 5 and 12 years of age. Age proof of children at the time of issuance of tickets is to be furnished.
  • A surcharge of 10% to be levied on all Christmas(25th December) and New Year(1st January) packages.
  • Service Tax @ 2.58% will be levied on the tarrif .
  • In addition to the tariff, USD 15 per pax will be charged against the payment of commercial taxes.
  • Tariff is subject to change without prior information.
