Garo hills are located in Meghalaya in India. They are the part of the Garo – Khasi range. Normally tribal people dwell in that area and they are commonly termed as Garo people. The capital of Meghalaya is Shillong and it is located in this region. This range is a part of the Meghalaya subtropical forests economy and is also one of the wettest parts of the whole world.
The Garo area is divided into three districts. The largest town is called Tura and it consists of almost 70,000 people. The climate here is really awesome and you can feel the clouds under the open sky. Tura is located at the foot of the hills. It has popular sanctuaries and parks. These are situated in the areas of Balarampur and Nokrek. It also flourishes with rich flora and fauna biodiversity. The Siju cave which is one of the longest caves in the whole Asia is also situated here along with other big and small natural caves.Garo hills are well-known for its rich biodiversity of wildlife. Lots of photographers and naturalists visit these areas to capture wonderful sights of nature and unique range of fauna and flora collection.
