The Chandra River gets the water from this lake and it is the only source of water. ChandraTal Lake used to be the halting place at a time for the traders who need to go to valleys of Kullu and Spiti. If you want to reach Kullu and Spiti from Ladak or Tibet you need to pass through this lake. This is the best place for the mountaineers who love trekking and rock climbing.
