The travel and tourism industry has been hit the most due to the ongoing Coronavirus. With the present crisis, the travel and tourism industry has witnessed a loss of about 60 to 70 per cent in its revenue share. However, the state governments are now preparing to open the tourism sector in order to cover up this loss. Top of the list is Goa, the tourism paradise of India. As Goa Gets Ready To Welcome Tourists, the state government has issued some strict guidelines for people who wish to travel to the state.
This was revealed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) when they stated the rules as laid down by the state government for the passengers flying to Goa. The passengers must adhere to these quarantine rules in the wake of the present crisis. The AAI revealed that it is mandatory for everyone travelling to Goa to undergo a 14-day home quarantine process on arrival. However, people can also opt for a paid institutional quarantine facility offered by the government.
AAI also stated that all passengers must go for 14 days home quarantine or can opt for paid institutional quarantine for 14 days. However, there would be an exemption granted if the passenger can show a negative Covid-19 negative certificate as issued by laboratories recognized by ICMR. Nevertheless, the report should not be older than 48 hours before the arrival time.
Also, as per the directives, an exemption would be offered if the passenger agrees for a swab test costing rupees 2000. Also, the passenger should agree to remain in a paid institutional or home quarantine centre till the time Corona test results are out.
