today we will be looking at some of the many hill stations located near Bangalore which is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. Vacationing spots are becoming more and more popular these days, as people are starting to use travelling as the activity of choice when they acquire their long deserved break from their work and the hectic lifestyles of their daily lives. Horsley Hills station

The famous Horsely Hills station is located just a short distance of 144 kilometers away from Tirupati, in Andhra Pradesh. The hill of the name of the station if you have noticed isn’t really Indian inspired. The reason for this is because the name of the station was actually derived from a man named W.D. Horsley whom had chosen this place as his personal get away spot during the summer. The hill station is at an altitude of 1265 meters above sea level and has shady slopes which are blanketed by a luxurious variety of vegetation. Any nature lover will surely find Horsley hill charming as the hill has a wide variety of flora and also provides visitors with the unique experience of a fragrant filled land from the Sampagi flowers surrounding the station.

Yelagiri Hills Station
The Yelagiri hill station is an ideal place to visit if you are seeking for some peace and quiet. The station is surrounded by a cool and calm atmosphere which is ideal for balancing out a stressed out mind and bringing peace to a person. Any visitor will surely be taken aback by the hills natural beauty, undisturbed calmness and its uniformly pleasant weather. Near the Yelagiri hill station is the Infamous Punganoor Lake. At this lake you can choose between fun activities like boat rowing or boat pedaling. Asides from that Yelagiri Hill is also home to Velvan temple which is a temple dedicated to Lord Murugan. The temple features a huge stature of Gadothgajan in its front, and during the months of July to August, multiple festivals are held here. The festivals held will surely enlighten you more about this amazing culture and will have you leaving this place with much nostalgia.

Yercaud Hill Station

The hill station is located on the hills of Shevaroy and is the only one of its kind in the entire northern area of Tamil Nadu. The hill station of Yercaud is well known for its many coffee plantations and Orange groves which surrounds its lofty hill. The hills here are home to some unbelievably beautiful floras accompanied by its trademark pleasant weather.

Nandi Hill station
The Nandi hills are located at an altitude of 1478 meters above sea level, and are the source of many of Karnataka’s rivers. The hills are named after Lord Shiva’s bull. The Hill station is well known for its many temples like the Yoga Nandishvara Temple, and the Bhoga Nandishwara Temple. The hills are also blessed with pleasant weather all year round as well as a notable amount of floral life.
