Hill stations near Delhi

We will be discussing a couple of the hill stations near Delhi, so you can make a visit to them. Delhi is situated near to the various hill stations of North India.

Shimla Hill Station
The Shimla Hill Station is a breathtaking hill station located at Himachal Pradesh and also happens to play the role of the capital of the state of Himachal Pradesh. The station has its name inspired from the goddess Shayamla Devi which is another form of the Goddess Kali the slayer of demons.

Despite it being named after such a powerful and violent goddess, the hill station of Shimla has a serene surrounding, with its green pastures and snow-capped peaks. The hill station is located at an altitude of 2213 meter. The hill station is a popular tourist attraction throughout the year but it is especially visited during the month of December when the lands of Shimla is covered by a pleasant blanket of snow.

Kasauli Hill Station
Any person who is visiting the area of Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh, have got to go and visit the hill station located there. Located at 1900 meters above sea level, it is a station famous for its serenity and its perfect silence. For those of us who are seeking to escape the noise of everyday life, this is truly the place to be. The only time you will hear the hill station emanating noise is during the weekends. At night the surrounding areas which houses various villages and towns, sparkle up like stars making it truly a majestic sight. The bazaar located at the station is also home to Tibetan merchants whom open up shops there and will offer you multiple trinkets as memorabilia.

Nainital Hill Station

The Nainital hill station is a beautiful place which is famous for attracting tourists. It is 336 kms from Delhi. One of the many reasons why the Nainital hill station is such a hit with tourists is because of the Naini Lake. The lake is also sometimes referred to as Trishi Lake. At the lake, tourists may enjoy scenic boat rides as well as the use of the yachting facilities at the lake offered by the Naintal Boat club. Asides from that the lake is also well known for being the annual hosts of the Kingfisher Yachting competition.

Mussoorie Hill Station
The Mussoorie hill station is located just 34 kilometers away from Dehradun and the hill which it resides on has been charmingly named the queen of the hills. This queen of hill station, is situated 250 miles north of Delhi. The Mussoorie Hill Station is well known to be one of the most beautiful hill stations in all of India. The climate of its surroundings which is relatively cool provides an ideal escape for those whom are sick of the hot weather and require a nice place to cool off.

Manali hill station

Situated at a height of 6398 feet, Manali is located at the end of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh. Being a very popular tourist attraction, it remains a place where the sights will stay on in your memory for a long time. Dotted with high snow capped peaks, it gives you some awesome views of the Himalayas. Manali is also sometimes called as the Switzerland of India owing to its similarities with the Swiss landscape. Manali is a place which has something for every type of tourist and is sure to enthrall your senses to the fullest. Also with a bundle of hotels in Manali, accommodation is never a problem

Chail hills
Chail is a hill resort station located approximately 375 km away from Delhi. The town which is elevated 2,250 meters above the sea level is a paradise during the summer months with many historical backgrounds. Around 8 hours drive along hill sides is a real fun and enjoyment. Chail is a historic hill station and has the highest cricket ground in Asia. The natural and scenic beauty of the place attracts thousands of tourist to Chail. The panoramic view of Deodar and pine trees along with other flaura and fauna is a treat to watch.

Dhanaulti
Moderate temperature, abundant greenery and the hills attracts tourist in the region. Dhanaulti located 325 km away from Delhi and elevated 2286 meters above the sea level. The place is not only beautiful but, has many historical backgrounds.Set amidst thick virgin forests of deodars, oaks and rhododendrons, it is an ideal location that ensures absolute peace of mind. The green meadows, towering trees, breathtaking view of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. It comes as pleasant surprises for the weekend travelers, who find it more peaceful and more relaxing. Its different experience altogether.

Nahan Hill station
Nahan is situated at an altitude of 950m. It is about 265 kms from Delhi. It is closer to the plains as compared to the peaks. Nahan is a popular tourist destination due to its scenic beauty and picturesque surroundings. The forest routes filled with lush greenery adds to the calm nature of the place. The temperature between September to November varies between 6°C to 27°C. While in winters that is during December to February it varies between 0°C to 17°C.

Dharamshala
Dharamshala To reach Dharamshal it will take around 10 hours from delhi. The city is famous for its lush green Jungles, pleasant and cool environment and the Dalai Lama. There are many tourist attractions in and around Dharamshala. The snow capped Dhauladhar range of Himalayas is a treat to the eyes.
