Indulge in the beauty of Kerala God’s Own Country with us

The land of temples, scenic beaches, picturesque location, Kerala is a destination known for its natural ecosystem. It is a destination that gives travelers many exciting moments. Last week, I also visited this heavenly abode to understand and reflect on why this destination is called “God’s Own Country.” Here is a snippet that shows some of my precious moments with this place.

On my arrival

I started this journey with my family and with my little kid, who is seven years old. I traversed from Maharashtra to Kerala in the hope of finding relief from daily monotony. My arrival was destined at 10:40 AM. The flight was on time, and I reached Kochi airport. We stayed in the hotel and started our expedition to the famous destinations of Kochi. Since I am a historical buff, the first place I landed was Fort of Kochi, where I witnessed the British colonial architecture, and near to it, there was a St Francis Church, an original burial site of Vasco Da Gama. After visiting few places here and there, we sat to dig Kerala’s famous delicacies Fish Moilee. And then we witnessed the sunset at Marine Drive of Kerala, watching the cultural performance of the localities.

On day 2

On Day 2, I went ahead with my family to the most famous hill station, Munnar, known for its beauty. It was a 4 hours drive from Kochi. It was a unique and blissful experience. Unlike other hill stations, the place does not feature only hills and resorts. There are many destinations to visit for wanderlust travelers like me. First of all, Eravikulam National Park, where I saw endangered species, and then to Chinnakanala Waterfalls. I also visited the bird sanctuary to make my little one aware of different bird species, museums, blossom parks, etc. The destination was filled with some sensuous chai moments.

Day 3

On day 3, I made a trip to Periyar National Park. I have researched about the park but have never expected such a large jungle. It is one of the largest tiger reserves that is home to various wild animals. The brownie point was that we got to see a real-time but gracefully accompanied by armed guides and patrol officers. After experiencing the jungle movements, we went ahead with boating in Periyar lake and visited Green Park Ayurvedic center. Also, I purchased some herbs and spices to add taste to my dishes.

Day 4 Alleppey

On day 4, we took a 4-hour drive from Periyar to reach Kumarakom there, we took a houseboat to v have an overview of the destination. Also, we visited Kumarakom bird sanctuary and driftwood museum showcasing the unique sculptures.

We headed towards the Alleppey beach in the late afternoon, where we stayed in the houseboat itself.

Day 5 Alleppey/Alappuzha- Varkala

The next day, we witnessed the beautiful town and its network of canals and calm lagoons, sipping the traditional palm wine.

After this brief travel, we ended up visiting Cochin Airport. We completed the travel expedition, but the memories will last forever. The journey was filled with moments of pleasure, adventure, and the aroma of seafood. The best thing that I like about the destination was it did not include grueling mountain treks.
