Mizoram is located in the north-eastern corner of India and it rests at the remotest parts of India. There are plenty of things to find here, and this in turn attracts large numbers of people from different corners of the world. In fact, it is the outstanding combinations of the Blue Mountains, lakes and valleys that offer wonderful opportunities to the tourists to make it an unforgettable experience in their life.

There are many tourist spots in Mizoram and some of these places include:

Aizawl:

It is the capital city of Mizoram and it is also considered to be a hill station that remains secluded. The geographical importance of this place is also great because the Tropic of Cancer runs at the heart of this city. The Mizo hamlets and the sea of flowers are very popular here. There is also a wonderful museum here with different kinds of historical relics, costumes and even artifacts.

Phawngpui:

It is one of the most popular and also the biggest destination in Mizoram. This is considered to be the highest peak in the state, and therefore, it is the ideal destination for the adventurers and trekkers. The tourists can also expect to find some of the fragrant herbs and beautiful orchids here.

Tamdil Lake:

It is basically located at a distance of 85 kms from Aizawl, and is one of the most tranquil lakes. The placid waters in the lake offer an amazing opportunity to boat and relax. There is also a jungle near this lake which offers rich flora and fauna.

Dampa Sanctuary:
It is located in the northwestern part of the Mizo Hills. The sanctuary houses large numbers of species of animals like tiger, leopard, elephant etc.

Vantawng Falls:
This is a picturesque waterfall which is located in backdrop of the lush and green hills.

Champhai:
Located 180km from Aizawl, Champhai is picturesque with rhododendrons crowding the surrounding hills.

Other places are Sibuta Lung memorial stone, Pukzing Cave, Lunglei Town, Pukzing cave, Milu Puk, Kungawrhi Puk, Saiha lake, Tomb of Vanhimailian, Paikhai, Kolasib and bung.

Shopping in Mizoram :

Bara Bazaar of Aizawl is the main market, you can buy handicraft and hand-loom items, Do not miss to buy Khumbeu ceremonial bamboo hat made of waterproof wild Hnathial leaves.

Climate : The climate is cool in summer and not very cold in winter. It rains heavily from May to September. Best time to visit Mizoram is November to March.
