Bara Imambara, or Asafi Imambara


Located at the bank of Gomati river and surrounded by Gardens, Bara Imambara is the must visit location for every tourist. The Imambara was built by Nawab-Asafud Daula in 1784 and is one of the top visited historical destinations of Lucknow. The place is eminent for its unique structure that offers spectacular view of Lucknow city from the terrace. It contains world’s largest hall without any support, courtyards, holy mosque, embellished entrance and confusing place called as Bhul Bhullaiya. The gate opens all the days except Monday from 6 A.M to 8 P.M.
Chota Imambara (Hussainabad Imambara)


Situated near Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara is one of the best tourist places in the city of Lucknow. Build by Muhammad Ali Shah in 1838, the place is embodiment of culture and heritage. The handmade beauty over the marble and stone, superb gold plating, striking interiors with edge mirrors and silver throne makes it beautiful and well decorated place to visit, even gorgeous than Bada Imambara. The splendid monument is built with number of mirrors, turrets surrounded by well decorated gardens. Unlike, Bada Imambara, it opens all the days of the week between 6 A.M to 7 P.M. entry fees is nominal. However, overseas travellers need to pay extra amount.
Lucknow Residency


It is a place that reflects the memories of war and history. It is one of the best tourist destinations in Lucknow built in 1700 to 1800 AD for the residence of British Resident General as it was a hub of all British administration. Today, it is a heritage site and main attraction of Lucknow. The city is well decorated and maintained by the system as there is an old museum that offers glimpse of art, engineering and lifestyle of Nawab during that era. British residency is also called as Nawab Saadat Ali Khan, who was the first of Awadh. So, if you are thinking to visit Lucknow for a heritage tour, visit here, as it remains open all days in a week from 10 AM to 3 PM. Needless to mention, entry fee is very low.
Jama Masjid


Jama Masjid is as elegant as Jama Masjid of Delhi. It is one among the most beautiful, important and holy monuments of Lucknow and deserves special mention because of its architecture and design. The place is a symbol of bravery, unity, religion and belief. The place witnesses many festivals and religious ceremonies. Besides beautiful interior, the monument’s gorgeous and splendid architecture make it very special place.
