Nainital is a famous hill station in Uttrakhand state and situated in the Himalaya. Nainital is situated in a valley that contains a pear shaped lake. During summers Nainital’s temperature is – maximum 27° C and the minimum temperature is 7° C. In winter Nainital’s temperature is – maximum 15° C and the minimum is -3° C. Nainital lake is known as Tri rishi sarovar, hints about three rishis – Atri, Pulaha and Pulastya. Nainital was founded in 1841. The Naini lake is the one of other sixty four shakti peeths. From top of the Himalaya you can see the magnificent views of the south and north plain.

Nainital is surrounded by three mountains that named as : – Naina, Ayarpatha and Deopatha.
Naina : – Its height is 2615 meters or 8579 feet and situated in the north.
Ayarpatha : – Height – 2278 meter or 7474 feet and situated in the south.
Deopatha :- Height – 2478 meter or 7999 feet and situated in west.
It’s all about a hill station, named – NAINITAL.

Tourist Spots Of Nainital :-

Naina Devi Temple : –

Nainital is known as the one of sixty four Shakti Peeths, here one of body parts fell down when Lord Shiva was carrying the body of Goddess Parvati (Sati). Eyes of the Goddess were fallen in Nainital. Naina Devi temple is a religious place for all Hindus. This temple was reconstructed after 1880s earthquake. You will get an amazing view of the hill station from the temple by overlooking the lake.

Naini Lake : –

This lake is a tourist hot spot and situated in the heart of the city. It is an eye – shaped lake and works as a magnet to attract visitors. Here you can enjoy the boating in the surrounding beauty. The lake’s north end is called as Mallital and the south end is called as Tallital. There are two banks, some shops and a post office on the lake bridge.

Governor’s House : – governor’s house was built in British era (1899). It was at the residence of the governor and it was built in Victorian Gothic style. It is an architectural monument and adding beauty with its lawns, swimming pool, golf course etc. If you want to visit this place you have taken the permission.

Naina Peak : –

Also known as China peak, It is situated about six kilometers away from the city. Naina Peak is also known as the China peak and it is also a hot spot for lovers. It is the highest point of the hill station. Naina peak helps you to take the best view of this hill station.

Snow View Point : – It is one of the coldest region in Nainital. The snow view point is around two kilometers away from the city. You can capture the pictures of snow covered mountains and snow covered peaks. Nainital tour is incomplete without the visit of snow point, October – November is a good time to visit snow view point.

Aerial Ropeway:

The spectacular view of the mountains and hills of Himalaya from this point is amazing. this is one of the popular tourist spots of Nainital, which runs from Mallital.

Pangot : – It is a popular bird viewing point.

Naukuchia Lake : – This lake is known for its nine corners. You can go around its nine corners to view the amazing nature scenery. Or you can enjoy it through a boat tour and take the look of its surroundings.

St. John Church :- St john’s church was built in 1844 and it is an important part of Nainital town. Church is situated on the north end (Mallital). St. John Church was founded by Daniel Wilson (Former Bishop Of Calcutta).

The Mall Road: This is a point of coalition between Tallital with Mallital, particularly throughout the peak seasons (between May to June) its very busy places of Nainital, However, this road is renamed as Govind Ballabh Pant Marg.

Bhimtal : – Bhimtal is the biggest lake of Nainital. Its name is on Pandav brothers. Bhimtal is twenty two kilometers away from the city.

Nainital Zoo: Just 1 km away from the Nainital bus stand. Nainital Zoo is constructed at 2100 meters height from the sea level. Its name has been changed to Govind-Ballabh-Pant High Altitude Zoo.

Tiffin Top or Dorothy’s seat: These are 4 KMs away from Nainital, it is the well- known as Dorothy’s seat means. People can enjoy the view of hills from this location as well.

How to reach Nainital:

By Air : The nearest airport is Pantnagar (70kms). Jagsons Airlines flights daily from Delhi to Pantnagar except on Sundays.

By Rail : The nearest Railway Station is at Kathgodam (35 Kms). The place is connected major Indian cities like Lucknow, Agra, Delhi and Kolkata.

By Road : State transport corporation operates regular buses between Nainital and other major neighbouring cities Delhi (322kms), Lucknow and Barreilly. There are also night buses from Delhi, Haridwar and Mussoorie.
