Sandakphu trekking is quite famous as a tourist spot. It is situated in Darjeeling which is located in West Bengal. The term Sandakphu means the ‘Height of the Poison Plant’. It is named so because of the aconite plants that grows just nearby the peak of Sandakphu. The culminating of another trekking route that is located in Darjeeling and sikim is Sandakphu trek. Sandakphu has an altitude of 3,636 mts and it has a distance of 58 km from the main Darjeeling. The main starting route for the trek to Sandakphu starts from the area of Maneybhajan which is a small town just beside Darjeeling. Before the starting of the trek you need to pass through the immigration check post.

From the top most point of the peak you can get a clear view of all the other five peaks which are the world’s highest peaks – Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Everest and Lhotse. All of these are snow clad arc Mountains. Except the monsoon season it is suggested that you can visit this place at any time of the year.
