Things to do in Kullu Manali

Water Rafting – Water Rafting is done to enjoy the thrill of the Beas River in Manali and here you will find rapids that are of high speed and difficult to cross which makes it all the more interesting and challenging. There are areas in Pirdi- in a water sport center that provides rafting in Kulu too and you need to go to Pirdi – which is 4 km out of the Kulu town. These two rafting areas are fun to choose from and if you can control your rafts, they become an exhiliarating experience for you in Kulu and Manali.

Paragliding – The experience of sailing through the blue sky is a good way to remember your tour to Manali. The facilities are available at Solang Nalah and in Marhi . There are operators who have their registration from the tourism department and you need to work only with them as they will take proper care. You will gret two types of flights – short and high flying experience. The short flight takes you up to 100 – 150 meters and the high flight can take you for a 20 – 30 minutes of flight along with experienced pilot. These are experiences that can thrill you for long days after the tour.

Trekking – Walking shoes with a good grip on the ankles are a must for you if you are going for trekking in Manali. Youy will also need warm jackets that are water proof and socks and sunglasses and headgear and rucksacks to carry these on your back. Torches and sleeping bags and first aid kit are also a must for you and you will need food stock to last for the period of trekking. The rocky and cold roads are idealfor trekking and you can form a group so that you do not feel bored or lonely. The trail through the villages or through the mountainous path can be a good idea for trekking.

Skiing – The Rohtang pass and Solang Nallah are the slopes that can give you option for skiing You can start as a beginner and then learn a few tricks from the instructors and then try out the complex slopes. Rohtang has got skiing facilities throughout the year and in winter the expert skiers can take special permission for heli skiing. There are a good many touristys throughout the year for getting to learn and enjoy the experience. These tourists are the responsibilities of the tourism department and there are trainers and instructors to oversee the whole thing.
