Things To Do In Udaipur

Udaipur is considered to be the lake city of Rajasthan because there are large numbers of lakes spread throughout this city. The other states of Rajasthan are filled with forts and deserts, but this in entirely cool due to the presence of large numbers of lakes. The beauty of the city is due to the lakes, and there are large numbers of people that visit this city.

There are many things to do in Udaipur and therefore, when you are here, you will not have dearth of activities. In fact, you will seriously love to be here, and explore the richness of the city.

Try Re-Living The History:

The City Palace in Udaipur is no doubt one of the most majestic palaces in India, and the art work and architecture that you will find in this palace will simple impress you. There are plenty of treasures within this palace, and each of the different sections has different stories to tell. This palace is towered above the beautiful Lake Pichola, and you will be able to take a breathtaking view of the lake from the balconies of the palace. Bagore Ki Haveli is an ancient building that stands on the platform of Gangori Ghat in the vicinity of Pichola Lake.

Don’t Forget The Lakes:

As already implied that there are many lakes spread throughout the city, and therefore, while you are in Udaipur, you should not afford to miss out visiting the lakes. It is not only Lake Pichola that you will be able to visit, but at the same time, you will also be able to take a view of the Fatehsagar Lake, Udai Sagar and Swaroop Sagar Lakes. If you want, you can also hire a boat, to take a trip across the waters of the huge lakes, and you will surely love to explore it with the backdrop of Aravali Ranges.

Try Out Shopping:
There are a number of handicrafts shops in Udaipur where various specialties of Udaipur are at display. There is a Tourist market and a Gandhi market where you will be able to indulge in your shopping activities, and you will surely love to shop here. Here, you will be able to shop for wide varieties of items ranging from handicrafts, textiles, toys and even dyed sarees. You can also buy metal hangings for wall from these markets.

The Famous Dal- Bati- Churama:

If you want, you will be able to enjoy the dal-bati-churama which is famous in the entire Rajasthan. This can be taken either at lunch or dinner, and each and every restaurant in Udaipur offers this delicious cuisine that you will probably not find anywhere else in India.
