Tripura Tourist Places

Tripura is a beautiful state with plenty of different spots for the tourists. This is the reason for which it is visited by large numbers of people from different corners of the world. There are beautiful rock cut carvings as well as stone images that are found in this area. Apart from that, this city also hosts a wonderful tourism festival participated by large numbers of people.

There are many interesting tourist places in Tripura and some of the popular places include:

Agartala:
The capital city, lying on the banks of Haora River, Agartala Boast many tourist places.

Ujjayanta Palace:

This is a palace that was built by Maharaja Radha Kishore, in the style of the Mughals. This is the largest building in the country that covers an area of about 1 square km. There is a Chinese room in this building and this room is carved wonderfully with wooden ceilings, sculpted front doors and even tiled floors.

Malancha Niwas:
This is a bungalow which is located adjacent to the Kunjaban Palace, and is situated on a hillock, which offers a wonderful picturesque view.

Unakoti:

There are many rick cut carvings available in this spot at Tripura. This place is also associated with a mythological significance, which is very much related to Lord Shiva. These rock cut carvings are located in an area of a beautiful landscape forest filled with green vegetation.

Pilak:
It is considered to be the treasure house of the Hindus and Buddhist sculptures. There are beautiful images that are scattered throughout the entire area, and there are many terracotta plaques and seals here. There are also colossal stone images that are found here.

Neer Mahal:

This is basically a palace that is built in water in the Lake of Rudrasagar. The palace is built in the style of a castle with pavilions and towers. There are also moats and bridges located here.

Deotamura:
This site is remarkable for the rock cut reliquary.

Other places worth visiting in Tripura are : Tribal Museum, Gedu Mian Mosque, Laxminarayan Temple, Handicrafts designing centre, Tripura Sundari Temple, Portuguese church, Dumboor Lake, Gumti Wildlife Sanctuary, Jampui Hill, Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary etc
