Waterfalls In Karnataka

Karnataka is one of the most famous places in India known for its waterfalls. Though there are plenty of tourist spots located here, yet, it is the waterfalls which offers spectacular and magnificent views of the place. These waterfalls are popular spots, and along with that, there are also enchanting locales due to which many people are further attracted to these places.

Some of the popular karnataka waterfalls include:

Abbey Falls:

These falls are located in the midst of lush green mountains and coffee plantations and spice estates. The waterfalls are gushing and they run through the rocky slopes, and these falks are so roaring that the sounds can be heard from the road.

Bandaje Falls:
These are also important waterfalls that are basically located on the western Ghats in the region of Belthangady in Karnataka. These waterfalls offer superb and spectacular views and this is the reason for which these are considered to be one of the hot spots for the tourists.

Jog Falls

Jog falls, being the tallest waterfalls in India. Its is located 100 Kms from Shimoga, on the borders area of Shimoga and North Kanara. The best time to visit the Jog is after monsoon session means in winter when the sky is clear and their is no risk of heavy rain. During Monsoons the Jog falls voluminous creating a spectacular sight with rainbows every now and then.

Dondole Falls:
These are also amazingly beautiful waterfalls that are generally located in the Belthangady taluk in the southern parts of Karnataka. These falls are also one of the hot spots for the tourists, and therefore, attract large numbers of people from different parts of the world.

Gokak Falls:

These falls are also located at a distance of about 6 km from Gokak in the Belgaum district. The roaring sound of these waterfalls is slightly dull, but these can be heard from a long distance, before one finally reaches these falls.

Hebbe Falls:
In fact, these are one of the most picturesque waterfalls located in the state of Karnataka, and therefore, attract large numbers of tourists from different corners of the world. It is considered to be a tourist destination of Chikmagalur and these falls are surrounded by coffee plantations and dense forests.

Other falls in karnataka are : Alekan falls, Burude Falls, Honnemaradu Falls, Lalguli Falls, Magod Falls, Iruppu falls, Hebbe Falls, Sirimane Falls, Unchalli Falls, Shiv Gange Falls, Sathodi Falls, Unchalli falls.
